Our Design Philosophy
At Mauri Landscapes we strive to form a Refreshing Client- Designer Relationship.
Each and every design is a personalized creation meant to specifically reflect our homeowner’s desires, tastes, and lifestyle. A Mauri Design is the result of careful listening and good communication combined with creativity and vision, quality workmanship and materials, and years of design expertise. Be assured your design will encompass instinctiveness, sustainability and functionality catering to your vision and desired outcome.
The Mauri Family knows that each and every one of our ‘projects’ is someone’s home; that our ‘clients’ are people and families. Every single day we work with real people, real homes and our clientele grows from real recommendations from satisfied homeowners to their friends, families and neighbors.
Our Designers would love to transform your outdoor living space, whether it is a fresh canvas or an old and tired existing landscape, into exactly what you’re dreaming of. Here are 6 Simple Steps.
Six Simple Step Process to a New Landscape
1. Allocate Time
There is a good amount of time and planning necessary for both the client and Mauri Landscapes to design and construct a landscape project properly. Mauri’s experienced design team can guide you through the entire design process, from your initial consultation to your project’s construction and beyond. Contact Mauri Landscapes today to schedule your Complimentary Consultation. Once your consultation has been scheduled an introductory email containing a Consultation Questionnaire will be sent to get you started on your planning process.
2. Complimentary Consultation
At the initial meeting, your Sales Designer will meet you at your property having already reviewed your completed Questionnaire. As important as that questionnaire is, it cannot replace the value of an on-site consultation as the Designer listens carefully to your specific passions, needs and desires while viewing the site. The Designer will provide input, make suggestions and ask additional questions. A budget for the overall project, whether it is to be installed all at one time or in phases, will be discussed. A site evaluation taking detailed measurements and photographs will take place either at that time or be scheduled for a future date. The Design Presentation date is also scheduled at this time.
3. Design Presentation/ Itemized Proposal
This meeting will take place at the Mauri Design Studio which features a large screen monitor that allows you to view your custom design in 3D (popcorn is optional). At this time minor revisions are made to finalize the design concept. Some projects may require more extensive revisions, which would necessitate an additional review appointment. Material selection will be discussed and selected from our library and/or onsite gardens and samples. The end result will be a design tailored perfectly for your home and your use. A proposal or budget will be shared at this meeting or shortly thereafter depending on how many details need to be gathered for the proposal. If we are not able to present the itemized proposal at this meeting, a timeline for the completion of the proposal will be discussed.
4. Project Planning
Upon completion of material selections and approval of Itemized Proposal, Mauri’s Design Team will provide the necessary design document for HOA submittal. During this step the necessary preparation for construction takes place. Construction documents are developed, materials are ordered and required permits are acquired. This is the stop and wait step that could take 30 to 60 days. We provide you with a “What to expect next Construction Information Sheet” that prepares you for your Project Installation.
5. Project Installation
The day we break ground on your project is the culmination of weeks, maybe months of hard work and planning to make sure that every detail of your construction project runs smoothly. Your Designer is your contact person regarding details about the design, aesthetics, and concept. They will happily address changes during the build with a Change Order. The Administrative Staff is trained to address construction questions and concerns promptly. The Crew Foreman will speak English and be on site to make sure the build goes according to plan. The Landscape Crews are extremely hardworking and incredibly considerate of your home and neighboring properties, cleaning up the job site every evening.
6. Post Project Care
Upon completion, a Site Evaluator is scheduled for a Quality Check and meets you on site to discuss your overall experience and to share information that will help you care for your investment. Your Designer is scheduled for at least one post-job follow up visit to address care and growth, satisfaction, and to make sure you are enjoying your outdoor space to the fullest. Mauri Landscapes offers maintenance and fertilizer programs for ongoing hassle-free care. The Administrative Team is just a phone call away to schedule care, discuss warranty concerns, and answer questions.
The Design Dynamics
The Design Process starts with a trained, professional, experienced and knowledgeable Designer, in other words, an expert. At the initial meeting, your Designer will determine your design needs. Most projects will fall under the normal design parameters which would be a complimentary viewing of a 3D design accompanied by a free estimate. If the client wishes to take a physical copy of the 3D design with them and is not yet ready to commit to Mauri Landscapes for the project, there would be a commensurate design fee for that copy. This fee would be applied as payment to the project total if the client ends up using Mauri Landscapes to construct their design. Some large-scale, custom or master design plans will require an upfront agreed upon fee in order to proceed with the design preparation. The Designer shares with you the upfront cost for such designs at the Complimentary Consultation. This design, upon completion, would be the property of the client regardless of whether or not they choose Mauri Landscapes to construct the project. Most design fees are applied to the project if you decide to move forward with our itemized proposal.
